Sport Recife eyes transfer of midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso from Fluminense

Sport Club do Recife, now competing in Brazil's Série B, has placed midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso on its watch list as a potential signing for the second half of the season. Ganso, whose contract with Fluminense runs until the end of the year, is not in the Brazilian club’s plans and has seen limited minutes on the field.

Sport’s management describes the possible transfer as a market opportunity, noting that while Ganso is close to reaching the appearance limit for Série A players – a restriction that would block a move within the top division – the rule does not apply to a Série B club. No formal negotiations have been opened yet, but the club expects to decide in the coming days whether to submit an official proposal to Fluminense.

Fluminense continues to monitor the market for players who have fallen out of the coach’s plans, while also looking at possible adjustments to its squad for upcoming league, cup, and continental competitions.
