Italy hosts Sportcity Day 2026 and various cultural events

The Sportcity Day 2026, organized by Fondazione Sportcity, saw over 700,000 participants across 200 locations in all 20 Italian regions to promote wellness and combat sedentary lifestyles. Cultural highlights include the EmiliaFoodFest in Carpi, celebrating regional gastronomy, and the SaxArts Festival in Faenza, dedicated to saxophone education and performance. Additionally, Teatrosophia in Rome has announced a new experimental theater season, while Teatro degli Orti/Modus in Verona is hosting a twelve-hour theatrical marathon.

On a social note, political discussions in the Senate have addressed national security and the defense of democratic values against hybrid threats, while a violent brawl at a fast food in Ostia has raised concerns regarding public safety and social tensions.
