Club Brugge trims squad ahead of Supercup, omits several first‑team players from Rennes camp
Club Brugge travelled to Rennes, France, for a four‑day pre‑season camp, taking a 26‑man squad. New signings Yann Sommer, Cheveyo Tsawa and Andrej Vasovic are included, along with several Club NXT youngsters such as Wout Verlinden, Andre Garcia and Samuel Gómez Van Hoogen.
Coach Ivan Leko left out a number of regulars and recent Belgian national‑team players – Hans Vanaken, Brandon Mechele, Joaquin Seys, Joel Ordonez and Christos Tzolis (who is close to a move to Arsenal). Additionally, midfielder Ludovit Reis and forward Gustaf Nilsson remain in Brugge, training individually while their future with the club is unclear. The camp will end with a friendly against Stade Rennes before the team returns to Belgium for the Supercup against Union Saint‑Gilloise.
