Sporting CP and PSV compete for Moncef Zekri

Sporting CP is exploring alternatives to 17-year-old left-back Moncef Zekri, despite having a long-standing interest in the KV Mechelen talent. While the Portuguese club has reportedly made a €3.5 million bid, there are considerations regarding whether the Moroccan youth international is too inexperienced to immediately succeed current options.

PSV Eindhoven has also expressed strong interest in the defender, who was previously linked to Inter Milan and reportedly declined an offer from Ajax. Although Sporting CP is currently considered to be in the pole position for the transfer, the player remains under contract with KV Mechelen until mid-2028.
