Sporting CP confronted with foreign interest in Geny Catamo while negotiating Gabriel Silva deal

Sporting Clube de Portugal's Mozambican winger Geny Catamo has attracted transfer attention from abroad. Italian Serie B side Como, owned by former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fàbregas, submitted a €25 million bid that Sporting promptly rejected. Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad is also monitoring the 23‑year‑old, though no formal offer has been made. Catamo remains under contract until 2028 with a €60 million release clause, and his 8 goals and 4 assists in 45 league appearances have boosted his market value.

Separately, Sporting are in talks to acquire forward Gabriel Silva from fellow Primeira Liga club Santa Clara. The transfer fee is still being negotiated and is expected to be around €5 million.
