Sporting CP eyes Geny Catamo renewal as Botafogo expands youth funding

Sporting CP is preparing to offer Geny Catamo a contract extension for an additional two seasons. The renewal includes a significant salary increase, raising his annual gross pay from approximately 1.4 million euros to 2 million euros.

In Brazil, Botafogo's SAF is utilizing tax incentives to fund its youth academy and women's football. The club has already secured 4.2 million reais through approved projects in Rio de Janeiro and aims to capture a total of 12 million reais by 2027. This strategy allows the club to invest in categories ranging from Sub-9 to Sub-20 without impacting the professional football budget.
