LASK Linz upsets Sporting CP 3-2 in Champions League

LASK Linz secured their first UEFA Champions League victory of the season with a 3-2 comeback win against Sporting CP at the Estádio José Alvalade. Despite an early goal from Sporting's Luis Suárez in the 5th minute, the Austrian side responded through Christoph Lang in the 15th minute.

In the second half, LASK took control with goals from Sasa Kalajdzic in the 63rd minute and Krystof Danek in the 68th minute, both following counter-attacking opportunities. Luis Suárez scored his second of the match in the 89th minute, but it was not enough to prevent the defeat. The victory marks a significant milestone for LASK, representing their first away win in the competition's history and ending a nine-match European away losing streak.

Sporting CP, who had won their opening two matches of the league phase, now sit in 12th position with six points. LASK Linz moves off the bottom of the standings, securing their first points in their debut Champions League campaign.
