Varandas addressed the “telenovela” surrounding the player, noting that a presidential candidate from Fenerbahçe had allegedly used Suárez as an electoral tool by promising a net contract of 10 million euros per year. The president also dismissed reports of disciplinary issues, clarifying a recent misunderstanding between Suárez and coach Rui Borges during a training session involving supplementary work.

Highlighting the player's importance, Varandas praised Suárez's professionalism and his exceptional performance last season, where he recorded 38 goals and seven assists. This statistical achievement places him alongside club legends such as Viktor Gyökeres, Mário Jardel, and Manuel Fernandes in terms of historical impact over the last 50 years.
