Sporting CP signs Brazilian goalkeeper Kaique Pereira
Brazilian goalkeeper Kaique Pereira has officially joined Sporting CP, signing a contract that runs until 2031. The former Palmeiras player, who holds the record for the most expensive goalkeeper sale in the Brazilian club's history, arrives in Portugal with previous experience playing for Farense and Nacional.
Kaique has already begun integrating with the squad at the Academia Cristiano Ronaldo. His arrival comes as Sporting prepares for an upcoming match against Nacional and follows the departure of João Virgínia to Wolverhampton. Kaique is expected to compete for the starting position against Rui Silva.
During his time in Palmeiras' youth categories, Kaique earned eight titles, including a Copinha and various state and national championships. He expressed his enthusiasm for joining the club, stating, “I am very happy. Being able to wear the Sporting shirt is special. It is a great club, with a beautiful history.”
