Sporting CP takes lead in Portuguese women's football championship

In the fourth round of the Women's National Football Championship, Sporting CP moved into provisional first place following a 3-2 victory over Torreense. The match, held at the Estádio Aurélio Pereira, saw Sporting take an early lead through Ágata Filipa before Torreense equalized via a Janaína Weimer penalty. Carla Armengol and Telma Encarnação provided goals to secure the win for Sporting.

Benfica secured a 4-0 victory against Marítimo, a match highlighted by the return of Portuguese internationals Ana Borges and Andreia Norton. Borges made her official debut after being sidelined for over a year due to an ACL injury, while Norton returned to the starting lineup after approximately 18 months of recovery from knee surgeries.

FC Porto struggled in the round, extending a winless streak to three matches after a 1-1 draw against Rio Ave.
