Sporting Cristal leads Clausura as UTC de Cajamarca faces relegation

In the Peruvian Liga 1 Torneo Clausura, Sporting Cristal has reclaimed the top spot in the standings following a 4-2 victory over Comerciantes Unidos. The win, secured at the Alberto Gallardo stadium, brings the team to 25 points. Luis Iberico scored twice, while Hernán Barcos added two goals to seal the result. Sporting Cristal currently leads the tournament on goal difference over Sport Huancayo.

In contrast, UTC de Cajamarca has been mathematically relegated to the Second Division. A 1-0 defeat against Cienciano in Cusco left the team 16 points away from the safety zone with only five matches remaining in the season. UTC currently sits at the bottom of the cumulative table with 10 points.

Meanwhile, the cumulative table shows Alianza Lima maintaining the overall lead with 62 points, followed by Universitario de Deportes in second place after a 4-1 win against Alianza Atlético.
