Sporting Cristal leads Torneo Clausura after matchday 11 wins

The 11th matchday of the Torneo Clausura in Peru's Liga 1 has resulted in a highly competitive race for the championship. Sporting Cristal has taken the lead after a 1-0 victory against UTC in Cajamarca, secured by a goal from Luis Iberico. Sporting Cristal now shares the top position with 22 points alongside Deportivo Garcilaso, Alianza Atlético, and Sport Huancayo.

Alianza Lima secured a 2-1 away victory against Cusco FC, a match marked by controversy. A goal by Kevin Quevedo was disallowed by VAR for a marginal offside, and the win was ultimately aided by two own goals from Cusco FC players. This result brings Alianza Lima to 19 points, keeping them within reach of the leaders.

Alianza Atlético also joined the leaders with 22 points following a 3-1 win over Sport Boys. This victory completed a dominant streak for Alianza Atlético, who have defeated Sport Boys three times in the last 14 days across both the Copa de la Liga and the Torneo Clausura.
