Sporting de Braga and Gil Vicente face delayed league match

Sporting de Braga and Gil Vicente are set to compete in a postponed match from the second round of the Portuguese I Liga. The fixture, originally scheduled for August, was delayed due to a gastrointestinal outbreak within the Braga squad.

The match takes place at the Estádio Municipal de Braga. Both teams currently hold 11 points in the standings, with Gil Vicente in eighth place and Braga in ninth. Sporting de Braga enters the game seeking to break a three-match winless streak, which includes a recent 3-0 loss to Copenhagen in the UEFA Conference League.

Gil Vicente arrives following a 3-2 victory over União de Santarém in the Taça de Portugal. Gil Vicente coach Luís Pinto noted that the delay provides more time for the squad to build cohesion, as the teams now face each other during the ninth round of the season rather than the second.
