Franclim Carvalho appointed as SC Braga head coach

SC Braga has appointed Portuguese manager Franclim Carvalho as the new head coach, succeeding Carlos Vicens. Carvalho, who most recently managed Botafogo in Brazil, signed a contract valid until the end of the season with an option for an additional year.

Vicens was dismissed following a 2-1 home defeat against Gil Vicente, which marked the team's third consecutive loss across domestic and European competitions. Under Vicens, the club secured a fourth-place finish in the I Liga and reached the Europa League semi-finals in the previous season.

Carvalho returns to Braga with previous experience in the club's youth structures and as an assistant coach. He aims to implement a style defined by intensity and speed. His debut is scheduled against KAA Gent in a UEFA Conference League match.
