Sporting events in Italy raise funds for cancer research
Various sporting events in Italy have successfully raised funds for medical research. In Milan, the sixth edition of ‘Una Racchetta per la Vita’ was held at the Società Canottieri Milano 1890. Organized by the Fondazione IEO-MONZINO ETS, the tennis tournament aimed to collect funds for the ‘Follow the Pink’ research program, which focuses on female oncology. The event included 40 participants and offered free breast examinations provided by the medical staff of the Istituto Europeo di Oncologia.
In Aversa, the Trofeo Pasquale Badile raised 10,000 euros to support leukemia research. Organized by the Associazione Città Viva in memory of a young nurse, the funds will be donated to AIL Napoli and AIL Caserta. The event featured a five-a-side football tournament and a ‘Partita del Cuore’ to support scientific research and assistance for patients with hematological pathologies.
