Sporting Lagos bolsters squad for upcoming NPFL season
Sporting Lagos is bolstering its roster ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The club has promoted 18-year-old academy youngster Fuhad Ojediran to the first team. Ojediran, a center forward, recorded 11 goals and 4 assists across 22 appearances last season in various competitions including the TCC League and NLO.
In addition to Ojediran's promotion, Sporting Lagos has signed three new players: Chinedu Sunday from Rivers United, Tamuno Kalio on loan from Shooting Stars, and Usman Mohammed from Sokoto United. The club will begin its NPFL campaign away against Doma United.
Elsewhere, Niger Tornadoes technical adviser Kabiru Dogo reported that his team is approximately 60 percent prepared for the upcoming season. The club is currently utilizing a pre-season tournament in Katsina to improve fitness and team cohesion before their opening fixture against Enyimba on August 30.
