Sporting Lisbon seeks to terminate Sotiris Alexandropoulos's contract
Sporting Lisbon is reportedly seeking to terminate the contract of Greek midfielder Sotiris Alexandropoulos. According to reports from ‘A Bola’, the 24-year-old player is not in the plans of the club and management is looking for an immediate solution to end their professional relationship.
Although Alexandropoulos was registered with Liga Portugal on the final day of the transfer window, his future at the club remains uncertain. Recent attempts to secure a move elsewhere failed, including a potential transfer to Gentlerbirgligi, which collapsed after the player did not pass medical examinations, and a move to OFI that also did not materialize.
Since joining Sporting in 2022, Alexandropoulos has made only 14 appearances for the first team. He has spent time on loan at Olympiacos, Standard Liège, and Fortuna Düsseldorf, but none of these clubs exercised purchase options. While his current contract runs until 2027, the club is exploring options for an immediate sale or a mutual termination of the agreement.
