Sportivo 2 de Mayo defeats Olimpia to lead Torneo Clausura

Sportivo 2 de Mayo secured a 1-0 victory against Olimpia at the Río Parapití stadium during the fourth round of the Torneo Clausura. The decisive goal was scored by Matías Cáceres in the 88th minute following a pass from Matías Moya. This win places the Pedro Juan Caballero-based club at the top of the championship standings.

Following the match, Olimpia expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating, releasing a video highlighting alleged errors that contributed to their defeat. Specifically, the club questioned whether a foul occurred against player Pedro Zarza in the play preceding the winning goal. In response, Sportivo 2 de Mayo posted a message on social media addressing the complaints from the Olimpia supporters.

Despite Olimpia creating several scoring opportunities through players like Sebastián Ferreira and Eduardo Delmas, they were unable to overcome the performance of goalkeeper Jonathan Rossi. Olimpia now shifts its focus to upcoming competition in the Sudamericana against Vasco da Gama.
