Sportivo Luqueño eliminates Olimpia from Copa Paraguay

Club Olimpia has been eliminated from the Copa Paraguay following a penalty shootout loss to Sportivo Luqueño. The match ended in a 1-1 draw during regulation time.

Oscar Ruiz opened the scoring for Sportivo Luqueño in the second half, but Mateo Gamarra equalized for Olimpia shortly after via a header from a Romeo Benítez cross. In the subsequent penalty shootout, Luqueño goalkeeper Nico Campisi secured the victory for his side by saving two penalties, including one from Gabriel Avalos.

Olimpia coach Pablo ‘Vitamina’ Sánchez expressed disappointment over the exit, noting that the team lacked the clarity to find spaces against a resilient Luqueño side. Despite the loss, Sánchez praised his players' intent to fight for the match and remains focused on their ongoing campaign in the Torneo Clausura.
