San Lorenzo faces bank embargo over Damián Ayude's legal claim

San Lorenzo de Almagro has faced a significant financial blow following a judicial embargo on its bank accounts. The measure stems from a legal claim by former coach Damián Ayude, who is seeking unpaid debts following his departure from the club.

The total amount claimed includes $415,614,932 in capital plus $124,000,000 in interest, alongside a separate claim of US$48,558 in capital and US$14,600 in interest. Ayude, who previously managed the club's reserve team before being promoted to the first division in 2025, was dismissed in March 2026.

This legal setback occurs amidst broader financial instability for the institution. The club is also managing a separate multi-million dollar dispute with former player Ignacio Piatti, who recently rejected a settlement proposal involving cash, future player sale percentages, and television rights.
