Sportking India to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Odisha textile plant

Sportking India is establishing a greenfield spinning plant in the Khordha district of Odisha, representing an investment of approximately Rs 1,000 crore. The project is expected to create more than 6,000 direct jobs.

Construction is currently underway following the acquisition of land, and the company has begun procuring machinery for the facility. Commercial operations are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of the 2026-27 financial year.

The investment aligns with Odisha’s efforts to position itself as a textile and apparel manufacturing hub through industrial infrastructure and policy incentives. The state offers capital and employment-linked incentives under its Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy to support integrated supply chains.
