SportLab academy launched in memory of Alex Zanardi

SportLab, a new academy for Paralympic athletes, has been launched in memory of Alex Zanardi. Managed by the Obiettivo3 association, which Zanardi founded in 2017, the project functions as a mobile school designed to identify and train young talent with disabilities.

The initiative will operate through itinerant campuses across Italy, starting in the Veneto region. The program aims to reach individuals who may have been overlooked by traditional selection processes by bringing training, seminars, and masterclasses directly to various territories. Initial disciplines include paracycling, paratriathlon, and archery, with plans for future expansion.

The first session is scheduled to take place at the university sports facility in Messina from September 3 to 6, hosting the first 30 participants. The project is led by Daniela Manni, Zanardi’s wife and co-founder of Obiettivo3, and Barbara Manni, Zanardi’s sister and head of the association.
