Sports clubs in Austria and Germany host breast cancer awareness events

Various sports clubs in Austria and Germany are hosting awareness events for breast cancer during October, often referred to as ‘Pinktober’.

In Kitzbühel, Austria, the ice hockey club EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel is organizing a ‘Pink Ribbon Day’ during their home game against HC Meran. The club will use pink accents and host a donation box in the foyer to benefit the Österreichische Krebshilfe.

In Heidelberg, Germany, the USC BasCats will wear pink jerseys during their home match against Eisvögel Freiburg II to promote breast cancer prevention. The event includes information stands from the Brustzentrum Weinheim and Frauenselbsthilfe Krebs e. V. Additionally, a pink jersey set from the previous season will be auctioned to support a fundraising goal of 2,500 euros for Frauenselbsthilfe Krebs e. V.
