Sports developments announced in Feira de Santana and Bahia

The city of Feira de Santana has launched the ‘Esporte Para Todos’ (Sport for All) program. This initiative aims to expand and democratize sports, recreation, and leisure across all municipal regions. Key structural measures include the creation of a Municipal Sports Council, a Municipal Sports Fund, and a Municipal Athlete Grant (Bolsa Atleta Municipal) to provide financial support to local athletes and para-athletes.

In Bahia, the City Football Group, which owns 90% of Esporte Clube Bahia, has authorized a R$ 12 million renovation of the Fernando Ferreira Lopes Municipal Stadium in Camaçari. Following a formal agreement with the local government, the project will focus on modernizing the facility, including the installation of a FIFA-certified grass pitch to allow for official national matches. This investment serves as a counterpart to the construction of the City Football Academy Bahia (CFA Bahia) in the metropolitan area.
