Sports developments: Marathón adopts hypoxia therapy and Rosario proposes athlete aid

Club Deportivo Marathón is integrating advanced sports medicine technology into its player preparation. The club is utilizing Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Training (IHHT) via MITOVIT equipment. This process involves alternating between periods of reduced and elevated oxygen concentrations while players are at rest to stimulate physiological responses, aid recovery, and support mitochondrial function.

In Rosario, Councilman Mariano Romero has proposed a municipal ordinance to establish the “Acompañamiento al Deporte de Alto Rendimiento Rosarino” program. The initiative aims to provide monthly financial assistance, specialized medical care, and free access to sports facilities for local high-performance athletes and coaches. The proposal follows the success of Rosario athletes at the Santa Fe 2026 South American Games.
