Sports events scheduled for Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro will host two significant sporting events in late 2026. The Liga Esportiva NESCAU, a major national student multi-sport competition, is set to take place on October 17 at the Clube de Aeronáutica in Barra da Tijuca. The event targets youth aged 7 to 17 and features 14 modalities, including soccer, volleyball, athletics, and capoeira. The program includes adapted activities for participants with disabilities.

Additionally, the 46th ABGS Brazilian Senior Championship (Taça Mario Gonzalez) will be held from November 11 to 13. The golf tournament will utilize three venues in the city: Campo Olímpico de Golfe, Gávea Golf & Country Club, and Itanhangá Golf Club. The event will also feature an induction ceremony for the Brazilian Golf Hall of Fame.
