Sports facilities reopen in Mexico and Honduras following maintenance

Several sports facilities in Mexico and Honduras have reopened following maintenance and event-related closures.

In Ciudad Valles, Mexico, the Municipal Olympic Pool has resumed operations after repairs to its pump room. The maintenance, costing approximately 370,000 pesos, addressed equipment wear that had impacted water circulation and hygiene. The reopening benefits over 600 registered users, including children and adults.

In Tegucigalpa, Honduras, the José Simón Azcona Sports Complex, also known as the Olympic Village, reopened on September 16 following the conclusion of the CODICADER 2026 Central American Student Games. The closure allowed for the removal of temporary structures and improvements such as the renovation of seven tennis courts. While the facility is open to athletes and the public, a scheduled closure is set to begin on the afternoon of September 17.
