Sports update: Vergara wins silver in Chile; Colo Colo conditions Josimar

Argentine kickboxer Gustavo Vergara secured a silver medal in the Low Kick category (up to 63.5 kg) at the WAKO Pan American Championship held in Olmué, Chile. After defeating competitors from Chile and Mexico, Vergara finished second in the final against a local athlete. The performance earned him points for the WAKO Pan American and World rankings, supporting his goal of qualifying for next year’s World Championship.

In Chilean football, Colo Colo is implementing a conditioning plan for goalkeeper Josimar, known as ‘Vozinha’. Following his arrival from Cape Verde after the World Cup, club staff noted he is currently ‘out of training shape’. The club is focusing on physical conditioning and tactical integration to prepare him for competition, though his starting position is not guaranteed as Gabriel Maureira currently holds the spot.
