Sports updates: Gustav Salmi-Lilja returns to SSK action

Gustav Salmi-Lilja made his return to the Södertälje SK (SSK) lineup during Wednesday's 3-0 victory against Karlskoga following an injury sustained during the season premiere against Leksand.

While Salmi-Lilja noted he felt ‘a bit rusty’ in certain play situations, he was involved in a physical altercation with Karlskoga's Carson Golder. The forward engaged in a fight after Golder cross-checked SSK goaltender Love Härenstam. Salmi-Lilja received a two-minute penalty for the incident, remarking that while he managed to knock Golder's helmet off, he would have preferred to have ‘bowled him down’ on the ice.

Salmi-Lilja is expected to remain in the lineup as SSK travels to face Nybro.
