Sergej Jakirović named Premier League Manager of the Month

Sergej Jakirović has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for August, becoming the first Bosnian manager to receive the award. The 49-year-old coach led Hull City to a highly successful start in their return to the top flight after a nine-year absence.

Under Jakirović, Hull City secured two victories in August, including a notable 2-0 win against Manchester United and a 1-0 victory over Coventry City. The team has maintained a perfect defensive record through the opening matches, remaining the only team in the top four tiers of English football to have not conceded a goal so far this season.

Jakirović won the award through a combination of fan votes and a professional panel, beating out high-profile managers including Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, Xabi Alonso of Chelsea, and Enzo Maresca of Manchester City. The manager expressed his pride in the achievement, attributing the success to the discipline and organization of his players.
