Sports updates: Santos Laguna leadership and Gigantes del Cibao announcement

Former Mexican goalkeeper Oswaldo Sánchez recently spoke about Aleco Irarragorri, the current president of the Santos Laguna football club. Sánchez recalled Irarragorri’s deep roots within the institution, noting that he grew up around the team’s locker rooms and was once jokingly referred to as a “mascot” of the club. Sánchez defended the young executive against recent criticisms, stating that Irarragorri possesses a deep understanding of the club’s inner workings and the commitment necessary to improve the team’s performance.
