Sports venues in Togo and France face closures and postponements

Kégué Stadium in Togo will close to the public from September 21 to 25, 2026, to prepare for an Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifier between Togo and Burundi. The closure allows technical teams exclusive access to install broadcasting equipment, security systems, and lighting, and to prepare the pitch and dressing rooms. Regular training and public activities at the stadium are suspended until September 26.

In France, the Yvon-Chevalier sports complex in Saintes was closed on September 20, 2026, due to security measures surrounding a Coupe de France match between ES Saintes and Girondins de Bordeaux. To manage the risk posed by approximately 2,000 visiting supporters, authorities imposed a strict closed-door policy and a heavy security presence. This lockdown resulted in the postponement of a Fédérale 3 match between US Saintes and SC Chinon, as well as the cancellation of various basketball, padel, and rugby matches scheduled at the site.
