Sportsnet revamps NHL coverage for 2026-27 season

Sportsnet has announced a major overhaul of its NHL coverage for the 2026-27 season, which includes lifting 150 regional blackouts and increasing national broadcasts by 35 per cent. The network plans to air more than 550 games.

A new flagship program, ‘Saturday Night Hockey’, will debut on October 3. The show will feature a studio team including Ron MacLean, Elliotte Friedman, Kevin Bieksa, and Colby Armstrong, and will include at least one Canadian team in every weekly doubleheader.

Additionally, ‘Monday Night Hockey’ will transition to a streaming-exclusive format on Sportsnet+ starting October 5. This broadcast will be hosted by David Amber alongside analysts Luke Gazdic and Justin Williams. TV subscribers can access this content via a $12.99 monthly upgrade available from September 15.
