Spotify Camp Nou renovation reaches compression ring milestone
Renovation works at the Spotify Camp Nou have reached a major milestone with the completion of the compression ring. The final piece of the structure was installed following a delay caused by temperature fluctuations, which required specific thermal conditions to manage the expansion and contraction of the steel components. The ring is now fully closed, providing the structural foundation necessary for the upcoming installation of 92 radial steel cables that will connect the compression ring to the inner traction ring.
This structural completion prepares the stadium for the ‘Big Lift’ operation, with the full roof installation currently projected for June 2027.
In parallel, PreZero has announced a partnership with FC Barcelona to implement a ‘Zero Waste’ model. This initiative aims to secure the ‘Zero Waste’ certification for both the Spotify Camp Nou and the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper starting next season.
