Spotify hosted its immersive Surround Sound live performance series in Lagos, Nigeria, on September 25 and 26. The event featured Nigerian artists Tems and Runtown in an intimate, in-the-round setting designed to bridge the gap between performers and fans.

Tems performed tracks from her EP ‘For Broken Ears’ alongside earlier singles and newer material. Spotify data indicates that ‘For Broken Ears’ has introduced nearly 19 million first-time listeners to the artist since 2023. Runtown performed a career-spanning set centered around his 2016 hit ‘Mad Over You’, which has surpassed 140 million streams.

Surround Sound is a live performance format launched from Sub-Saharan Africa. The performances are captured as full-length music films for the Spotify platform.
