Spotify launches audiobook service in Italy
Spotify is expanding its global audiobook service to Italy, part of a rollout reaching over 180 countries. The platform offers a catalog of more than 350,000 titles, including approximately 14,000 works in Italian. This expansion is supported by partnerships with major Italian publishers such as Gruppo Mondadori, Giunti Editore, Emons Audio, Fazi Editore, and others.
Users with a Spotify Premium subscription can access up to 12 hours of audiobook listening per month. For those requiring more content, the company offers an ‘Audiobooks+’ add-on subscription, as well as the option to purchase individual titles.
A new feature called ‘Page Match’ has also been introduced to bridge the gap between physical and digital reading. This tool allows users to transition from a printed book to an audiobook by scanning an ISBN code and using page numbers to resume listening from the exact same point.
