Spotify mistakenly displays Irish lyrics for Dolly Parton's Welsh Jolene

Spotify incorrectly uploaded the lyrics for Dolly Parton's Welsh-language version of her hit song ‘Jolene’ in Irish. While the track features parts sung in both English and Welsh, the digital streaming service displayed the lyrics as Irish.

The song is a posthumous release from the legendary country artist, who died on August 25. It is a collaboration between Welsh singer-songwriter Bronwen Lewis and Parton's niece, Jada Star. The project originated after Lewis translated the classic song and shared it on social media, leading to a recording session that included Parton.

Spotify removed the incorrect lyrics following inquiries from the BBC. The streaming platform has not yet responded to questions regarding when the error occurred or when the correct lyrics will be restored.
