Spotify reports 16% revenue growth and 306 million premium subscribers
Spotify announced strong third-quarter 2026 financial results, reporting a 16% year-over-year increase in revenue to approximately €5 billion. The company reached 788 million monthly active users, an 11% increase from the previous year, and grew its premium subscriber base by 9% to 306 million.
Operating profit rose 15% to €672 million, driven by lower-than-expected personnel and marketing costs and a solid gross margin of 33%. While revenue and operating income met or exceeded expectations, net profit saw a significant decline compared to the same period in 2025.
Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, Spotify projects revenue to reach €5.2 billion and aims for 316 million premium subscribers. The company is also focusing on expanding its audiobook offerings to over 180 markets and enhancing its AI-driven features, such as personalized playlists and the AI DJ, to maintain competitive advantages.
