Two arrested in Spotorno for death of teenager at luna park
Two amusement park operators have been arrested and placed in custody following the death of 15-year-old Alessio Colletti at a luna park in Spotorno, Italy. The teenager, originally from Saronno, died in July after being electrocuted while using a ‘calciometro’ (a football kick strength tester).
Investigators from the Savona Prosecutor's Office allege that the device was illegally connected via an electric cable to a nearby swing ride managed by the arrested couple. The couple faces charges of manslaughter and procedural fraud. Authorities claim the suspects attempted to cover up the illegal connection by removing cables and altering the scene before police arrived.
Evidence for the fraud charge was reportedly found by comparing photographs taken immediately after the tragedy with subsequent crime scene inspections, which revealed missing objects and cables. A third individual, the owner of the device the boy was using, is also under investigation.
