SNK announces Metal Slug Ultimate Collection for 2027
SNK has announced the ‘Metal Slug Ultimate Collection’ to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its iconic run-and-gun franchise. The compilation is scheduled for release in 2027 and will be available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
The collection features ten titles, including the main series from the original 1996 release through Metal Slug 7, as well as Metal Slug Advance and Metal Slug 6. Notably, the bundle will include a rare ‘Location Test Version’ of the first game, which was previously never officially released to the public.
Modern features will be integrated into the collection, such as quick save, quick load, and a rewind function. Players can also access online leaderboards, a gallery mode containing historical artwork and logos, and a Combat School mode designed to teach basic controls and techniques to new players.
