Spring & Mulberry chocolate recalled in US over possible salmonella contamination

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an urgent recall of Spring & Mulberry artisanal chocolates after testing identified a potential salmonella contamination in a specific production lot. The affected products, which use dates instead of sugar, span 12 flavors and were distributed nationwide from August 2025. No illnesses have been reported, and laboratory tests on the batch were negative, but the company opted to remove all affected inventory as a precaution.

Consumers are advised to check the lot numbers listed for each flavor and to discard or return any matching products for a full refund. Those who have consumed the chocolates should monitor for symptoms of salmonella infection—fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps—and seek medical attention if they experience any signs, especially children and older adults.

The recall covers dozens of lot codes, for example Blood Orange (025217, 025289, 025325), Pure Dark (025217‑025219, 025254, 025266, 025269, 025324, 025338, 025350), and several others, with sales through online retailers and various U.S. states being halted.
