SPRiNG programme expands peacebuilding efforts in Nigeria

The Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG) programme, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, is advocating for the increased inclusion of women, youth, and marginalized groups in peacebuilding efforts. The programme aims to challenge social norms that limit leadership participation and is working to support the implementation of Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) policies.

In a related development, the Nigerian Presidency has entered into a technical partnership with the SPRiNG programme, implemented by Tetra Tech, to enhance peace coordination in North Central Nigeria. This partnership, scheduled from August 2026 to March 2027, focuses on strengthening social cohesion through the development of a Peace Initiatives Coordination Dashboard. This tool will map and monitor peacebuilding actors and initiatives to identify gaps and opportunities for collaboration.

The collaboration also includes the establishment of a Knowledge and Learning Hub and a Peace Impact Measurement Framework to improve evidence-based decision-making and documentation of community experiences in the region.
