Brazil flower market reaches R$ 23.35 billion GDP
The arrival of spring in Brazil is driving significant activity across various consumer sectors, most notably in the ornamental plant and flower market. According to data from the Instituto Brasileiro de Floricultura (Ibraflor) and Cepea/Esalq-USP, the GDP of the flower and ornamental plant chain reached R$ 23.35 billion in 2025, representing a 10% increase from the previous year. The sector currently involves 8,715 producers covering approximately 17.2 thousand hectares.
Environmental factors such as increased temperature, luminosity, and humidity are expected to accelerate plant development cycles and increase production volumes. Cooperflora, a cooperative in Jaguariúna, SP, reports that these seasonal conditions allow for a diverse range of species to be harvested, expanding market availability.
Other lifestyle sectors are also seeing seasonal shifts. In gastronomy, there is a trend toward lighter consumption, including white wines, rosés, and sparkling wines, as well as refreshing beverages like herbal teas. In the beauty industry, spring trends favor lighter and more vibrant nail polish colors, such as various shades of pink and lilac.
