Springbok Women prepare for WXV Global Series opener against Wales
The Springbok Women are preparing to begin their WXV Global Series campaign with an opening match against Wales at Cardiff Arms Park. Following a busy summer that included test series against the USA, Fiji, and New Zealand, the squad is seeking its first victory in Cardiff since 2010.
Co-coaches Laurian Johannes-Haupt and Franzel September have led the team through recent training sessions in Cardiff, focusing on match simulation and adapting to wet weather conditions. The squad features experienced players such as captain Babalwa Latsha, though they face challenges including the absence of Anacadia Minnaar and an injury to centre Zintle Mpupha. Felicia Jacobs has been called up to the squad to fill a vacancy.
Following the match in Wales, the South African women's team is scheduled to play test matches against Italy, Spain, and Ireland.
