Springbok Women name co-captains ahead of Italy test

The Springbok Women are preparing to face Italy in their second WXV Global Series match following a 50-19 defeat against Wales. Players expressed frustration over their recent performance, noting they did not play to their full potential against the Welsh side.

For the upcoming fixture in Pordenone, the squad has undergone significant changes. Unam Tose and Sizo Solontsi will serve as co-captains, marking their debut in Test rugby captaincy. The lineup features the return of Lerato Makua and Alichia Arries from injury, while regular captain Babalwa Latsha will move to the bench.

The squad selection includes a reshuffled pack and several positional shifts, such as Byrhandré Dolf moving to flyhalf and Maria Tshiremba moving to the left wing. The team aims to rebound during their European tour, which also includes a scheduled match against Spain.
