Springbok Women prepare for historic match against Ireland

The Springbok Women are set to face Ireland at Athlone Stadium in their first encounter between the two teams in 20 years. Ireland enters the match ranked fifth in the world, while South Africa holds the tenth position.

South African player Vainah Ubisi stated that the team's strategy focuses on disrupting Ireland's set-piece strength, specifically targeting their lineouts and scrums to prevent them from gaining clean ball. Captain Sizophila Solontsi, who will lead the side in place of the injured Babalwa Latsha, described the match as a “new chapter” for the current generation of players.

Despite the ranking difference, the South African squad aims to use the match to test their development and ability to compete against top-tier international opposition.
