Springboks announce squad for third Test against All Blacks

South Africa head coach Rassie Erasmus has announced the Springboks squad for the third Test against the All Blacks at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. With the four-match series currently tied at 1-1, the upcoming encounter is seen as a pivotal moment that could determine the momentum heading into the series finale in the United States.

Due to a hamstring injury to Damian Willemse, Cheslin Kolbe will move from the wing to the fullback position. Kurt-Lee Arendse returns to the starting lineup to take over on the wing. The Springboks have also adjusted their front row, with Ox Nché, Malcolm Marx, and Wilco Louw returning to the starting XV, while Gerhard Steenekamp, Deon Fourie, and Thomas du Toit move to the bench.

Erasmus noted that while the team is currently set, he remains open to late tactical changes depending on weather conditions, specifically regarding potential rain in Johannesburg which could impact scrummaging and handling. The coach emphasized the high intensity expected for this match, noting that the winner will hold a significant advantage in the rivalry.
