Springboks lead All Blacks 2-1 ahead of series decider in Baltimore
The Springboks hold a 2-1 lead in the four-Test ‘Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry’ series against the All Blacks following a 29-24 victory at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium. The series moves to Baltimore, USA, for the final deciding match at M&T Bank Stadium.
Both squads face significant injury concerns heading into the finale. The All Blacks will be without captain Ardie Savea (dislocated shoulder), Quinn Tupaea (knee), and Luke Jacobson (elbow). Coach Dave Rennie indicated he plans to rotate the squad to bring in fresh energy.
South Africa will also be missing Cheslin Kolbe, who suffered a broken jaw during the third Test. Rassie Erasmus has named Damian Willemse to replace Kolbe at full-back and Morne van den Berg at scrum-half. A victory in Baltimore would secure the inaugural tour trophy for the Springboks, while an All Blacks win would level the series at 2-2.
