Springboks gear up for Buenos Aires test as Kolisi and Louw return from injury

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is set to make his first official international appearance of 2026 in the test against Argentina in Buenos Aires, after missing the Barbarians clash in Gqeberha due to injury. Coach Rassie Erasmus said Kolisi is the player he worries about the least, citing the captain’s history of overcoming setbacks. Kolisi will be joined by veterans Eben Etzebeth and Lood de Jager.

Flanker Elrigh Louw, who suffered a severe knee and leg injury that kept him out of the 2025 season, believes the Springboks have learned from their narrow loss to Argentina two years ago. Louw, now wearing the No 7 jersey, expects a “quality” contest in Buenos Aires and sees the match as a chance to cement his place ahead of the upcoming series against the All Blacks.
