Sprite and IRCTC launch India’s first branded train

Sprite and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have launched the Sprite Tejas Express, India’s first branded train. The service will operate on the Lucknow–New Delhi–Lucknow route for a six-month period starting in August 2026.

The partnership includes five coaches featuring Sprite branding on their exteriors and announcements of the train name at stations. Onboard, Sprite will be included in passenger food bundles, with additional collaborations such as a partnership with Wow! Momo.

The initiative also incorporates sustainability efforts, including the use of recycled plastic to create station benches, with each bench repurposing approximately 45 kg of post-consumer packaging waste. The ceremonial flag used during the inauguration was also made from repurposed PET bottles.
